LABUAN BAJO - A fire occurred on Rinca Island which is included in the Komodo National Park area in West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara.

"Rinca in the north/west (which burned, ed)", said Head of the Komodo National Park Agency (BTNK), Lukita Awang, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, November 2.

He said information on the fire was obtained from BTNK's internal officers at 15.00 WITA.

Currently, the BTNK team is trying to extinguish the fire at the fire site.

The number of personnel deployed was 43 people, consisting of 32 rangers and 11 residents of Rinca/Kerora.
