Rolling Stones Drummer Charlie Watts Dies

JAKARTA - Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts has died. Charlie Watts died at the age of 80 in a hospital in London, England.

"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Charlie Watts. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family," a spokesperson said.

"Charlie was a beloved husband, father and grandfather and a member of The Rolling Stones, one of the greatest drummers of his generation," the spokesperson continued.

Watts has been a member of The Rolling Stones since 1963. He has been with The Rolling Stones for 30 years.

The man who was born on June 2, 1941 has been playing drums since the 1960s. Watts later joined Brian Jones, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards in the band Rolling Stones, in January 1963.
