Primal Scream has finally given an official response regarding the decision to leave bassist Simone Marie Butler.

Through an emotionally charged statement, Bobby Gillespie et al. let go of the departure of the musician who had strengthened their line-up for more than a decade with praise as high as the sky.

The Scottish band expressed deep gratitude for Butler's contributions since joining in 2012. During the 13 years of togetherness, Simone was considered not just an additional player, but a crucial element that gave its own color to the stage dynamics and the group's creativity.

"We've had an incredible 13 years with Simone. During her time with us, she brought positive energy, feminine grandeur, and a committed musician into the band," Primal Scream wrote, quoting a statement on the official Instagram, Sunday, February 1.

Furthermore, the band, which is now led by Bobby Gillespie, Andrew Innes, and Darrin Mooney, highlights the bass player's warm personality. They emphasized that the relationship that has been established has gone beyond the limits of professionalism.

"His warmth, kindness, and gentleness light up every step we take wherever we are in the world. We have many wonderful memories and he will always be a part of the Scream family. We love you, Simone," the statement continued.

Simone Marie Butler first set foot in Primal Scream to fill the vacant position left by Mani (Gary Mounfield), who at that time decided to return to The Stone Roses. His presence proved able to maintain the stability of the band in the midst of major transitions.

In line with the band's statement, Simone also delivered a touching farewell message through his personal Instagram page. He said he was grateful for the opportunity to travel the world and learn a lot from his teammates whom he called "beautiful people".

"I'm so grateful to have been a part of this band for so long, meeting amazing people and fans. Primal Scream music meant a lot to me even before I played the iconic bass line. Although I'm no longer on stage, I will always be part of the Scream family," said Simone.

However, to date, Primal Scream has not announced who will replace Butler's position for the upcoming tour schedule.
