Day Zero Festival Held In Bali On April 17, 2026

JAKARTA - After years of being known as the most spiritual and exclusive electronic music celebration at the heart of the Tulum forest, Mexico, Day Zero Festival initiated by Damian Lazarus has finally announced its expansion into Southeast Asia.

Bali was chosen to be the debut stage for Day Zero on April 17, 2026. This decision, according to Lazarus, was not just a business matter, but a call for soul triggered by Bali's "cosmic energy".

This expansion makes 2026 a monumental period for Day Zero. The decision to expand the reach itself was made very selective.

"There has never been a concrete plan for Day Zero outside our spiritual home in Tulum. However, over the years, my team and I have traveled to many remote places, exploring new opportunities "often the invitation of producers and promoters of established events," Lazarus said, quoted by Billboard, Friday, November 14.

"We have been very careful in our expansion, never wanting to rush into something that doesn't feel right for all of us," he said.

Meanwhile, Day Zero Bali will be produced through a partnership with the Savaya Group, a production team known to host dance music events in Bali, Jakarta, and its surroundings.

Savaya's expertise in producing events on the Island of the Gods is the main reason for this collaboration.

"A few years ago, I also began exploring Bali as a potential destination for weaving our wonders. As I spent more time there, exploring the richness of its culture, traditions, and cosmic energy, I fell in love as deeply as possible on the island," Lazarus said. That connection led me to start a dialogue with the Savaya Group, which I immediately recognized as the perfect partner to help realize a vision I have developed a spectacular festival set in an extraordinary place I have found."

Before landing in Bali, the festival, which is thick with a deep house and a spiritual tech house, will stop first at Smench Miguel dos Milagres, a town on the north coast of Alagoas, Brazil, on January 3, 2026.

A week later, on January 10, 2026, Day Zero will return to its original 'spiritual home' in Tulum, which has been the annual location since 2012.

The Tulum Edition will feature DJ Mau P, Seth Trodeler, Nicola Cruz, Damian Lazarus themselves, and many other big names to be announced in the coming months.

Lazarus continued, the reason for adding two new editions of Day Zero next year is due to his belief that 2026 is the right time to expand.

He said the Day Zero team consists of individuals who are very talented and specially connected in Mexico every year to create experiences in other worlds.

"We discussed the idea of bringing our love and sincere intentions to other special places and agreed that we were able to build what we have created so far; we all heard calls to create this kind of miracle elsewhere," he said.

He also explained that the location of Day Zero greatly influenced the choice of artists who would appear. "Every location spoke to me in a different way. I had to look at the location and try to imagine what would and would not work in every location. I tried to make a list of artists while walking on site, imagining how we would change that place and what kind of voice and what kind of artist and personality would shine there," he said.

Lazarus confirmed that the three events in Tulum, Brazil and Bali will be the only Day Zero edition held throughout 2026. This is based on very detailed production demands.

"We never want to reduce our ethics, our attention and detail, our sustainability activation, or a sincere connection led by our performances with indigenous peoples and mystical traditions," he said.
