JAKARTA - At the age of 25 - with a new formation and of course the passion for music that remains passionate - Base Jam, which is now manned by Aris (guitar), Alvin (vocals), Sita (bass), Sigit (vocals), Oni (guitar) ) and Alsa (drums) released a new single with a pop ballad nuance entitled Jalan Kita Different.

This song is inspired by everyday life. A love story that is deep but doesn't end with being together. Although that taste is still lingering and an understanding that differences are not a problem.

"Maybe because we are different, we can't be together, we can't belong to each other, but that doesn't mean we are hostile," said Alvin, the songwriter, in a written statement received by VOI, Monday, December 2.

“Some of the singles we previously released had upbeat tempo. So hopefully this song can treat the longing for Base Jam Friends (as Base Jam fans) and Indonesian music lovers with the slow song Base Jam, ”added Sita.

The music offered in this song is indeed made to be easily enjoyed with simple song lyrics and still contains the deep meaning of Base Jam songs. Does not make people frown when listening to it but also far from being sober.

"We want all people to enjoy this song. Not only Base Jam Friends who have been with us all this time, but millennial (circles) who may not be familiar with Base Jam can also be represented, so at least they are entertained by the song Jalan Kita Different, "explained Aris.

Apart from the new single, Base Jam will also be releasing a memorabilia to mark their 25th year of work. Sort of merchandise worth collecting Base Jam Friends or anyone else who appreciates Base Jam's efforts, struggles, friendships and creations over the past 25 years.

Formed on January 15, 1994 from the desire of each of its personnel to have their own musical work, Base Jam succeeded in releasing their first album titled Bermimpi in 1996. After that their albums and songs always colored the Indonesian music scene.

Long story short, at the end of September 2019, vocalist Adon Saptowo resigned from the band that raised him. Through his Instagram account, the owner of the shrill voice uploaded a letter entitled My New Journey as many as 13 sheets.

About a week later, Base Jam announced the return of its former vocalist, Sigit Wardana, who had left in 2006 to pursue a solo career. Sigit was asked to replace Adon and tandem Alvin.

Apart from that, Base Jam also added a female drummer to their lineup. He is Jeane Phialsa, drummer for Erwin Gutawa Orchestra, who has been an additional drummer for Base Jam for stage needs since four years ago.
