JAKARTA - David Gilmour has stated that there is no possible way for him to return to work with his former Pink Floyd bandmate, Roger Waters.

The two main creative powers behind the legendary rock band have indeed clashed openly since Waters came out in 1985, where the dispute has escalated to political issues in recent years.

Last year, Gilmour once stated that he preferred to stay away from people who actively support genocide and autocratic dictators rather than reunite with Waters.

Apparently, his tough attitude has not softened at all until now. In a recent interview with The Telegraph, Gilmour was asked what it needed to get him to join Waters again.

"Nothing," Gilmour replied firmly. "There's no way it's possible for me to do that."

The 79-year-old musician did not see any chance of returning to the stage with Waters. However, he saw the possibility of a reunion with other Pink Floyd personnel.

"Nothing will get me to share the stage with someone who thinks such treatment of women and the LGBT community is fine," said Gilmour.

"On the other hand, I'd love to get back on stage with Rick Wright (Pink Floyd keyboardist), who is one of the softest and most musically talented people I've ever known," he continued.

On another occasion, Gilmour also said he felt exhausted because he had to keep talking about Waters. "Did you know the decade of my life when Roger left our group? I'm in my thirties. I'm now 78. Where's the relevance?" he told Mojo in 2024.

On the other hand, Pink Floyd sold their $400 million music catalog in a deal with Sony last year. Gilmour said the move was driven primarily by his desire to get out of the mud puddle that had been going on for a long time, instead of a financial motivation-driven decision.

David Gilmour himself has just released his live concert film, David Gilmour Live At The Circesmen, Rome, in Blu-ray format, last week.

Meanwhile, the 50th anniversary edition of Pink Floyd's classic album, 'Wish You Were Here', will be present on December 12 as a demand box set.
