POD Reworks Don't Let Me Down Belonging To The Beatles With A Nu Metal Taste

JAKARTA - Payable On Death or better known as POD will re-release the Beatles classic song written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, Don't Let Me Down, this week.

This release is a form of respect for the band nu metal from San Diego, USA for the musical legacy of The Fab Four.

PO.D. guitarist Marcos Curiel said his band had long admired The Beatles since the start of their journey.

"Despite the clich, we have always admired The Beatles since the beginning of the journey of our songwriting. Melodi, hook, and their fearless experiments inspired us to make our own version of the classic song 'Don't Let Me Down', with great respect," Curiel said, citing a statement. Instagram upload, Tuesday, September 23.

"Thank you for helping to lay the foundation of what we all know today as rock 'n' roll, pop, and metal," he added.

The decision of the POD to re-release the Beatles song cannot be separated from their active momentum lately. The band, which is now fronted by Sonny Sandoval (vocals), Marcos Curiel (guitar), Traa Daniels (bass), and Zachary Christopherr (drums), has just completed their European tour as a special guest star for Godsmack.

The tour began on March 22, 2025 at Sofia Arena, Bulgaria, and ended on April 12, 2025 in Turbinenhalle, Oberhausen, Germany. Throughout the tour, POD visited major cities such as Bucharest, Budapest, London, and Brussels.

The release of this song also follows the success of their latest album, Veritas', which was released in May 2024. The album 11th of the POD managed to penetrate the top 10 Billboard Current Hard Rock, Current Rock, and Current Alternative charts in the US. In fact, this album has surpassed 48 million streams.

Some of the songs from the album Veritas' which became the mainstay single include Drop in collaboration with the vocalist Lamb of God, Randy Blythe, and Afraid To Die featuring Jinjer vocalist Tatiana Shmayluk.

In addition, the POD is also busy with various tour schedules and festivals, including a joint tour with Skindred, the main tour of I Got That in the US with Bad Wolves and Norma Jean, as well as appearances at major festivals such as Louder Than Life and Aftershock.

The DOD also visited Latin America in October 2024, where they performed at Knotfest and held major performances in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico.
