JAKARTA - The Indonesian Voice Vibration (VISION) and the Federation of Indonesian Musician Unions (FESMI) sent an open letter to ten Commissioners of the National Collective Management Institute (LMKN) for the period 2025-2028 which was just inaugurated last week.
Through an open letter uploaded on Instagram, the two association of musicians congratulated and expressed their hope that the inaugurated Commissioner could restore public trust.
"Congratulations to colleagues who have just been inaugurated by the Ministry of Law of the Republic of Indonesia and received the mandate as the new LMKN commissioner," read an open letter from VISI and FESMI.
"We convey this open letter as a reminder for all of us, namely how important transparency is to restore public trust in LMKN and LMK," he continued.
As an effort to demand transparency, the association, which was led by Armand Maulana and Cholil Mahmud, requested that LMKN and LMK report the distribution of royalties obtained from the Mie Gacoan case in Bali.
"As a form of implementation of this transparency, we hope that LMKN and LMK can immediately report the distribution of royalties that Mie Gacoan has paid," he said. Improving the system towards digitization is very necessary, but seriousness can also be seen from the quick response to one of the main tasks of LMKN and LMK, namely royalty distribution.
At the end of the open letter, VISION and FESMI requested transparency of LMKN and LMK to the public as well as improvement of the system.
