JAKARTA - The country's music ecosystem is facing serious challenges in the midst of a slowdown in economic conditions. The promoter's desire to increase concerts and festivals is hampered by declining purchasing power.
CEO of TMC Indonesia, Aulia Mahariza expressed her concern with this condition. He did not deny the difficulty of selling tickets in today's times.
"It's really difficult now, because (the situation) is really difficult, selling tickets is difficult," said Aulia after attending a press conference in Jakarta, quoting ANTARA on Thursday, July 10.
Aulia regretted that the difficult situation occurred when many concerts were scheduled throughout this year in Indonesia.
In order to overcome this problem, his party continues to make efforts to negotiate with parties involved in holding concerts such as the 2025 Korean Ost Concert (KOSTCON) to provide a decent ticket price to the public.
This effort is expected to increase sales which he targets to reach 10 thousand spectators. He also assessed that these efforts would continue to be made to be able to survive and keep the promoter ecosystem healthy.
"We promoter organizers want to continue to make concerts, but we do have limited venues in Jakarta, especially out of town," he said.

Aulia assessed that the presence of MSMEs in the concert area to turn the economy also had an important role. However, until now its involvement is only related to making mergers or as a business that provides food and drinks (F&B).
"Because all events definitely need F&B, we invite them. Like now, we are trying to collaborate with an MSME organizer as well as for KOSTCON, that's actually the most that can be done for MSMEs," he said.
Moreover, to present other sellers from abroad, he said it was quite difficult because later the proceeds from intellectual property (IP) could not enter state revenue.
"We can't take the IP for our production, but if it's really the right thing to support, this domestic IP-IP, which can be developed later if they come, there's no possibility, right," he said.
However, the promoter will try to introduce Indonesian culture through souvenirs to the artists present, thus opening up the possibility that they will spend more money to buy locally produced goods.
