Get Criticism, Marilyn Manson Concert In Brighton Canceled

JAKARTA - Rockstar from the United States, Marilyn Manson, will start the One Assassination Under God tour in Great Britain in October. But the show in Brighton, England had to encounter quite a tough obstacle.

The singer's concert with the real name Brian Hugh Warner in Brighton was reportedly canceled after several lawmakers requested that the concert be canceled.

Millie Earl, leader of the Council in Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole (BCP), became a loud-spoken figure about the cancellation of the show that was held on Halloween.

Earl highlighted the case faced by the 56-year-old singer, who has faced a series of counts of rape and domestic violence by four women. Manson denied it, and the case ended earlier this year, when prosecutors said the allegations had exceeded the time limit and they could not prove the allegations of sexual assault.

"(This is an attempt to) strengthen the message that violence against women and girls is not something that is acceptable in our community," Earl said, citing The Allah via NME, Sunday, June 29.

Furthermore, according to Theploy, ticket buyers for Manson's show at Brighton Center have been told by Ticketmaster that the show has been canceled and they will get a refund.

Not only that, Brighton's outlet added, online activist groups under the name No Stage for Abusers also asked Brighton and Hove City Councils to cancel the show.

This follows Parliamentary Member Simen Berry who joined in. Members of the Green Parliament and former party leaders in England and Wales have outlined several policies that he said contradicted the event, arguing that the concert was against the values of their city.

Apart from Brighton, which has been canceled, another city in Great Britain that Marilyn Manson will visit for the One Assassination Under God tour is Bournemouth, Cardiff, Nottingham, Manchester, and London.

After the United Kingdom, the tour will continue to cities in Europe, including Paris,ikarp, Prague, Berlin, Warsaw, Leipzig, Bern, Bergamo, Barcelona, Madrid, and others.
