Ahmad Dhani Responds To FESMI And PAPPRI Who Submitted Amicus Curiae In The Agnez Mo Vs Ari Bias Case

JAKARTA - Ahmad Dhani as the supervisor of the All-Indonesian Composter Association (AKSI) responded to the Federation of Indonesian Musician Unions (FESMI) and the Association of Singer Artists, Songwriters and Musicians of the Republic of Indonesia (PAPPRI) who volunteered as an amicus stealee (court friend) to the Supreme Court regarding a civil case between Agnez Mo and Ari Bias.

As is known, the Central Jakarta Commercial Court in its decision, granted part of Ari Bias's lawsuit and found Agnez Mo guilty of not permission to perform the song Bilang Saja created by Ari Bias.

Regarding this decision, Agnez has filed an appeal, and is currently still in the process at the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, Dhani sees what FESMI and PAPPRI are doing in this case as a very late step.

"Where have Ente-ente been, for ten years he has never thought about the economic rights of the creators, now he wants to be a hero ofTEN," said Dhani during a press conference in Senayan, Central Jakarta, Friday, March 21.

On the other hand, Minola Sebayang as Ari Bias' attorney stated that amicus theft is the right of all Indonesian citizens, including those in FESMI and PAPPRI.

"Because all Indonesian citizens have the same rights in the eyes of the law. So, anyone can use their rights, including FESMI and PAPPRI. When they want to use their rights as citizens to apply for amicuscuree, that's fine," said Minola.

"It's just that, we have to look at the correlations and interests. Because if for example there is no correlation and its interests still need to be questioned, this will eventually become a very strange condition," he added.

Considering the cases of Agnez and Ari related to the violation of the Copyright Law, Minola said, the organization that has an interest should represent the songwriter.
