LMKN Affirms There Should Be No Intervention In The Legal Process Of Ari Bias And Agnez Mo

JAKARTA - The National Collective Management Institute (LMKN) held a dialogue meeting with stakeholders of the Indonesian music ecosystem in Gatot Subroto, South Jakarta today, Thursday, February 13.

Dharma Oratmangun as the Chair of the LMKN said that this dialogue meeting was intended to discuss the governance of the performance rights in Indonesia, including the latest problems involving Ari Bias and Agnez Mo.

Regarding the civil law process that has been decided by the Central Jakarta Commercial Court, LMKN after holding a dialogue meeting stated that it respects the legal process.

"That LMKN takes various things seriously, and responds quickly. At the same time, we are also responding to the judicial process related to the demands of our friend, Ari Bias, in which the court in the first stage has decided," said Dharma during a press conference after the dialogue meeting.

"And we need to underline this, that this dialogue meeting respects the ongoing legal process, seriously respects the judicial process, and no one should intervene in the legal process," he continued.

Dharma also appealed to all parties to respect the legal process that occurred between Ari Bias and Agnez Mo, as well as to respect the judicial authorities.

"We heard there was a cassation process as well, and we all have to respect the process," he said.

Furthermore, Dharma said that the dialogue meeting had provided a lot of input, where stakeholders felt the need to sit down together to discuss better governance of performance rights.

And various interests of creators, singers, musicians, promoters, and users, must both respect what is ordered by the law. Therefore, LMKN's attitude is not left and not to the right, we are just upright with the Law and Government Regulations. If it is violated, it is a legal process," concluded Dharma Oratmangun.
