JAKARTA - The 2025 Grammy Awards just ended, but the conversation about what happened there was still crowded on social media, one of which was the bad treatment obtained by Kenneth Edmonds alias Babyface on the Grammy red carpet (red carpet).

In a video circulating on social media, Babyface is seen conducting interviews with two young women, but the interview session had to be cut off because one of the interviewers seemed more enthusiastic about welcoming Chappell Rosan who was standing behind Babyface.

When Babyface was about to answer the questions given, the interviewer called Chappell Roan's name and ignored the 65-year-old singer.

Babyface realized that the young woman in front of her was more interested in Rosan, she said, 'You guys want to do that (interviewed with Rosan)? Do it.' Babyface immediately left the interview session.

The video clip made a lot of people angry. One of the Boyz II Men personnel, Shawn Stockman was even furious at the bad treatment of Babyface. Through an Instagram post, he called the interviewer disrespectful to a music legend like Babyface.

"A friend of mine was on the red carpet (Gr planning Awards 2025) and he was being interviewed by several young women. And during his interview, they saw someone I think is popular at the moment. And they called that person, basically teasing my friend, who was talking about being a legend in the music business, not just black music, but in music in general, "said Stockman.

The interview suddenly broke because they were trying to get the attention of this particular artist. And my friend, who is clear and deserves to be angry, handed over the microphone and just left," he continued.

Stockman also contacted his manager to discuss what happened. He felt, there was a wrong view in the music industry, where those who had become legends and had a big impact, were not respected.

I spoke to my manager, Joe, on the phone about this. And he asked a question, or rather he made a statement. That will never happen in the NFL or NBA. You will never disrespect Magic Johnson.. You will never disrespect football legend Deion Sanders or anyone else. Because there is a level of understanding of what certain humans bring to their respective professions. However, it seems otherwise in the music industry, "said the 52-year-old singer.

This industry tends to have a very bad habit of doing things that are very disrespectful to people who should be respected. No matter what you know or don't know about them, there are certain people in this industry who should really understand who they are and who they should respect. So, I feel annoyed that in other entertainment professions, be it acting or sports, legends are respected," he continued.

But in the music industry, if you are not considered relevant, you will be thrown away and removed, no longer useful. And that's strange to me. And I want to ask all of you, why do you think so? Why is that? Why is the business of music and artists contributing to the music business so negligible, while the genre of entertainment or sports or whatever you call, is respected?
