Fan Response To Chris Martin's Apology During Coldplay Concert In India

JAKARTA - Coldplay's appearance in Mumbai, India, in the context of Music of the Spheres World Tour, has become a hot topic of conversation on social media.

The reason is, from the video uploaded by fans on Instagram, it appears that Chris Martin (vocals) apologized for the bad treatment of the United Kingdom to Indians in the past.

"This is our fourth visit to India, and the second time we played. The first time we played in a long show and we couldn't expect a better audience. Thank you for coming today everyone," Chris Martin said, citing a video uploaded to the Instagram account @hunar_anand, Tuesday, January 21.

"It's amazing to us that you welcome us even though we are from Great Britain. Thank you for forgive us for all the bad things the United Kingdom has done," he continued.

Various compliments were also expressed by fans to the Coldplay frontman. They rate Chris Martin as a role model, who shows his musical ability as a means of unity.

"Haha he's so real for that," wrote one fan in the comments column.

"He is a manifestation of the 'unity through music'," said another fan.

"Chris cures intergenerational trauma with microphones, stage, and some songs," wrote another fan.

Since landing in Mumbai on Thursday, January 16 last week, Chris Martin has been in India's public spotlight. He was there with the actress who is also his girlfriend, Dakota Johnson.

According to the Hindustan Times, the two were seen walking around the city holding hands. Chris Martin also visited Marine Drive, and with Dakota, went to pray at the Siwa temple in Mumbai. The two of them wore traditional clothes at the temple site.

Meanwhile, Coldplay appeared in three shows in Mumbai, namely on 18 19, and 21 January. Furthermore, they visited India's second city, Ahmedababad, to hold two more shows on January 25 and 26.
