FESMI Continues To Support Music And Creative Economy Actors Get Social Security

The delivery of social security compensation by the Minister of Culture (Ist)

JAKARTA - The Federation of Indonesian Musician Unions (FESMI), which is currently led by Cholil Mahmud as Acting Chairman (Plt), replacing Yovie Widianto, continues to strengthen its cooperation with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.

This collaboration is strategic for the struggle of FESMI, whose main program is to provide social security for the profession of musicians and workers in the field of music.

Several bands with big names in the national music industry, such as Kahitna, RAN, Portrait and HiVi! have also received social security protection after being officially registered through the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Jakarta - Grogol Office.

As a continuation of the program, the heirs of the late cultural maestro. Almujazi Mulku Zamari who came from Bau Bau, Southeast Sulawesi and Almh. Mrs. Jariah, who came from Bungo Regency, Jambi, has also officially received social security compensation.

In this case, Fadli Zon as Minister of Culture and Anggoro Eko Cahyo as President Director of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, directly provided the social security.

"This social guarantee is also a form of state recognition of the cultural profession which has the same rights as other professions," said Fadli Zon, in a press release received by VOI, Tuesday, January 7.

Anggoro appreciated the steps taken by the Ministry of Culture in providing protection and welfare for cultural maestros. He hopes that this can also inspire other Ministries.

"With more and more protected maestros, it is hoped that they can work without anxiety, so that they can continue to preserve ancestral culture as well as pass it on to the younger generation," said Anggoro.

Furthermore, the Presidential Special Staff for Creative Economy, Yovie Widianto, who has been quite vocal in recent years regarding social security for art actors, expressed his gratitude for the social security program in order to protect arts and cultural workers as well as creative industry players in Indonesia.

"Hopefully this program will continue to bring goodness to us together and for the industry where we work. Everyone must get the benefits of social security," he concluded.
