MANIPOL Brings Inspiration And 90s Of Rock Vibe In Single Agitation

JAKARTA - MANIPOL, an indie band that carries Alternative Rock music, is ready to show its new color on the music scene. Formed six years ago in Bekasi, they are taking a new step forward.

Martin (Vocal, Guitar) as a member from the start invited Gani (Drum), Denny (Bass) and Agung (Guitar, Back Vocal) to strengthen MANIPOL at the end of 2023.

In July 2024, MANIPOL finally released its first single entitled 'Efficient Reason'. Now MANIPOL has released its second single entitled Agitation'. This song was composed by the vocalist, Martin, who told about someone's anger and his intention to bounce back from adversity.

"This song tells about the anger of someone who does not accept the reality of life that he has always experienced with failure and sadness trying to bounce back in any way," Martin explained in a written broadcast received by VOI, December 12.

The thick rock music nuance was presented by MANIPOL in his latest single this time. Martin said that MANIPOL wanted to repeat Rock's memory of music in the 90s, especially in Rock Alternative and Grunge. Taping drums and the sound of two guitars in this song is enough to make us flashback to that era.

In terms of sound, this song is different from the previous single. This song is influenced by a lot by elements of Rock Alternative in the grunge genre era, which is still Jaya-jaya in the 90s. The music in this song Agitation is influential to the band Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, The Melvins, Nirvana and others that Seattle Sound Music could be categorized in its time," he said.

"The first music genre that I listened to was indeed Grunge and Rock Alternative music. The distortion of guitar and beat drums that was tight really made me finally fall in love with this music genre. That's why there is some sound in this song reminding us of old band songs."

MANIPOL hopes that their works can be enjoyed by many people and become a playlist of songs that accompany the everyday life of the listeners. At the same time, it can cure the longing for 90's Alternative Rock and Grunge music.
