Dave Mustaine Returns To Studio To Work On Megadeth's New Album

JAKARTA - Megadeth's new album has been a metalhead talk since the joining of Teemu M Wayntysaari last year. The last studio album released by the Los Angeles band was The Sick, the Dying... and the Dead! in 2022.

Last August, MTVysaari said that each personnel had worked independently to find ideas, which would later be unified and recorded.

Launching Blabbermouth, Megadeth's new album has entered a further stage. Dave Mustaine has reportedly entered the studio to start writing and recording his next studio album.

This is known through the upload of fans on Reddit who shared Mustaine's message with members of the Megadeth fan club, Cyber Army.

The Megadeth frontman informed that he was preparing to enter the studio to work with Chris Rakestraw who was in charge of producing.

"He (Mustaine) will move to the studio with producer Chris Rakestraw over the next six months to write and record a new album," reads the fan upload.

The bass player James LoMenzo, the drummer Dirk Verbeuren, and guitar player Teemu Muncyntysaari sent the idea of a song from home, and they will all reunite in the studio later.

Rakestraw as a producer is not a new figure. He had worked with Megadeth while working on the 2016 album "The Sick, the Dying... and the Dead!" and "Dystopia".

Previously, Mustaine talked about how the dynamics in Megadeth have changed since the joining of MTVaari into the band.

Mustaine said, "Well, we are a band again. It doesn't feel like me and some side players or some session players. It's not like that with the previous formation, but it was one of the fears I had."

"I feel Kiko (Loureiro) has given us a lot by helping us find Teemu, because with Kiko having to resign... I think I'm going to end my career with Kiko, and when things change with him, he can't go on tour anymore because he has to be home to his kids. So I saw him tour again, and I'm happy he's still playing. But he has to go home. And when he comes home, he introduces us to Teemu, "he continued.

"We (Kiko and I) will always be friends, but this new relationship I have reminds me of a time when we had Marty Friedman in the band and the four of us really felt like a band."
