Coldplay announced their plan to re-release their album collection. The difference is, the albums are produced using environmentally friendly materials.
This is in line with Chris Martin Cs' mission to maintain sustainability. Fans can collect the ranks of Coldplay's legendary albums with more responsible materials.
Made from used plastic bottles, these EcoRecords weigh 140g and are produced using injection-moulding technology that reduces carbon emissions by 85% compared to conventional vinyl production.
Coldplay albums that will be re-released in this environmentally friendly format include Parachutes (2000), X&Y (2005) to Music of the Spheres (2021). Fans can pre-order this EcoRecords project.

Coldplay's EcoRecords are produced using 100 percent recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which is a lightweight, durable material, and is designed to reduce shipping emissions and environmental impacts when they are no longer used.
Each 140g disk is made from an average of 9 plastic bottles of cleaned rPET, crushed into small grains, then printed into vinyl. Coldplay ensures that it only uses rPET material for this version.
Production of music albums with environmentally friendly materials has been done before. Their latest album, Moon Music (2024), was also released on the EcoRecords 100% rPET, making it the world's first album to use this format.
Meanwhile Coldplay will still hold shows at several major stadiums in the near future. They also scheduled a residential concert at Hull's Craven Park Stadium and Wembley.
