Elton John Has Experienced Blindness For Four Months Next To Right

JAKARTA - Elton John gave the latest news regarding his eye condition, which has been recognized since last summer for infection, causing his vision to be disrupted.

During a recent interview with Good Morning America, John admitted that he could not see it with his right eye. This is getting worse because his left eye vision is also not optimal.

"Unfortunately, I lost sight of my right eye in July, because I had an infection in South France. And it's been four months since I couldn't see. My left eye is not at its best," said the 77-year-old musician.

John said he had taken the initiative to address the vision problem, including for music activities. However, his lack of vision has limited what he can and cannot do.

"I can do something like this (interview), but go into the studio and do the recording, I don't know," he said.

"Because I can't see the lyrics. It hit me. And I can't see anything. I can't read anything, I can't watch anything."

In addition to talking about his vision, John also talked about his collaborative song with Brandi Carlile, 'Never Too Late'. The song will be released in conjunction with the documentary Elton John: Never Too Late on December 13.

"I am very proud of the documentary. I am proud of my sons. I am proud of my attitude towards myself and what is happening. I am very lucky and I am very grateful," concluded Elton John.
