International Golo Mori Jazz 2024 Postponed Due To Men's Lewotobi Mountain Eruption

JAKARTA - The International Golo Mori Jazz 2024, which is planned to be held on November 16, with a heavy heart, must experience delays due to the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki.

PT Pembangunan Pariwisata Indonesia atau ITDC dan Jazz Gunung Indonesia selaku penyelenggara mengumumkan bahwa bencana alam yang terjadi di Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur itu telah menimbulkan dampak yang signifikan bagi masyarakat sekitar, dan pihaknya memutuskan untuk menunda Golo Mori Jazz 2024 demi keselamatan semua pihak yang terlibat.

"The force majeure situation that occurred in East Nusa Tenggara resulted in an flight cancellation, and what we got the information yesterday and today, Komodo Airport is closed," said Inka Sulistya, Project Manager III International Golo Mori Jazz (ITDC) in a virtual press conference on Monday, November 11.

"To ensure that our event, which is planned to be held on November 16, goes well, we from ITDC decided to postpone this event to the beginning of 2025," he continued.

Until now, the organizers have not set a replacement date, considering the need to find out further developments in the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki.

However, the organizers confirmed a new date would soon be announced when the situation improved. So far, it is predicted that the International Golo Mori Jazz will be rescheduled for the first quarter of 2025 (January-March).

In addition to the delay, Bagas Kandiatmono as the President Director of Mount Indonesia Jazz ensured that there was no change in the concept and reduction of line up for the replacement date.

"We have discussed with all the performers, and they are still committed to this Golo Mori Jazz. So, everything that has been announced will appear later, and maybe there will also be additions," said Bagas.

Preparations have been made by the organizers and performers themselves, with the total ticket sold reaching 85 percent.

Andien and Tohpati, who will be the performers for the first International Golo Mori Jazz, also expressed their empathy for the people of East Nusa Tenggara who were affected by the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki.

"I know that all parties have been very excited about this event, but indeed with a heavy heart it must be delayed, because we as human beings must also empathize with what happened. I believe this decision was taken very wisely and became the best for all of us. God willing, when the new date has been announced, it will be the best," said Andien.

"We ourselves have 80 percent of the preparation performances, and I have also discussed this delay with friends who will appear. Yes, I hope this event can be held next year more maturely and better," said Tohpati.

To accommodate ticket owners, there are also official refund services that are only carried out through the organizers, PT Jazz Gunung Indonesia. For safety's sake, ticket owners are advised to be careful of fraudulent attempts. The refund will not be carried out through third parties, and information related to the refund process will be announced through the official channel PT Jazz Gunung Indonesia.
