Learning From Liam Payne's Case, Guy Chambers Asks No Teenagers To Debut In Pop Group

JAKARTA - British senior musician and music producer Guy Chambers also criticized the music industry, after Liam Payne's case resulted in him dying at a young age.

It was previously known that Liam died in Buenos Aires, Argentina on October 16, after falling from the third floor of the hotel where he was staying.

Since the death of the former One Direction personnel, many musicians have voiced the impact of poor fame on young stars in the music industry.

Guy Chambers, who has been in the music industry since the mid-1980s, expressed his views, reflecting on Payne's extraordinary fame at a young age.

"I think putting a 16-year-old in such an adult world has the potential to be very damaging," Guy Chambers said of Liam's debut with One Direction, citing the Observer, Monday, October 21.

Guy gave an example of his close friend, Robbie Williams, who joined the youngest Take That personnel when he was 16 years old.

The 61-year-old musician said that it had been a long time since the protection of teenagers entering the world of the music industry was so bad. He even said his condition had not changed much to date.

For information, Liam Payne first auditioned for X Factor in 2008, when he was 14 years old. At that time he failed to go far.

Two years later, he returned, and was selected to join One Direction with Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson.

One Direction was dissolved in 2016, and Liam decided to continue his journey in the music industry as a solo singer.
