Print Many Hits, Melly Goeslaw Admits Never Writes A Song From A Personal Experience

JAKARTA - For a songwriter, taking inspiration from his own experience is normal. However, this does not apply to Melly Goeslaw.

While performing at his single concert titled The Greatest Melly Goeslaw - Everlasting Harmony at the Beach City International Stadium last weekend, the 50-year-old singer admitted that none of her songs were inspired by her own personal experience.

"Cat ya, tidak ada kisah saya yang dijadikan lagu, karena hidup saya terlalu indah untuk dijadikan lagu," kata Melly Goeslaw kepada penonton.

When Rossa appeared on stage as a collaborator, Melly was again asked if it was true that no song was inspired by herself.

"There is a song from his personal experience The Melly," asked Rossa.

"Nothing," replied Melly.

Furthermore, Melly actually mentions other people's stories that are often used as inspirations in writing songs.

Rossa and I were very close. He once came home at night, kept venting, and I wrote his story, so I wrote it," said Melly.

Still on the same occasion, Melly Goeslaw again revealed that she could not play musical instruments and read musical notations.

"I wrote a song, but I can't play instruments and read music. I'm jealous of those who can," he said.

In the concert, 30 songs written by Melly Goeslaw were displayed on stage, including Don't Want It Again, Dini Marriage, Bunda, Bimbang, Until Closing Your Eyes, On behalf of Love, Tegar, to What's With Love.
