Green Day through its official social media account also provided clarification on the incident. They were asked to leave the stage because of potential security concerns.
"Detroit! Sorry for the delay in tonight's show, stadium security officers told us to vacate the stage while they were handling potential security concerns," Green Day said in a statement.
"The DPD will soon resolve the situation, and we can continue the show. Thank you for the understanding."
According to a Billboard report, the Green Day show in Detroit was halted for ten minutes. It was stated that unauthorized drones were seen floating near the stage before Green Day personnel suddenly came out.
After Billie Joe Armstrong returned to stage, they continued the show by playing 'Longview' again.
"Welcome to Paradise. Nothing can stop us, believe me," Armstrong shouted to the tens of thousands of viewers who packed Comerica Park.
