Asked To Label Stop Making Pop Music, So The Reason For Clean Bandits To Get Rid Of?

JAKARTA - Clean Bandit is known as a pop group from Cambridge, England with a distinctive character who has successfully combined room music (chamber) and dance music (dance music).

They collaborated with many pop artists to give birth to hits, such as Rather Be with Jess Glynne (2014), Rockabye with Anne-Marie and Sean Paul (2016), Symphony with Zara Larsson (2017), and Solo with Demi Lovato (2018).

The idea of pop music that was promoted brought Clean Bandit to the top of the UK charts four times and victory at the Grammy Awards.

However, their names seem to be dim in recent years. Since 2020, none of their recordings have made it to the top 10 charts.

The personnel also revealed how their previous label, Atlantic Records, requested that Clean Bandit replace the musical style that has proven successful.

"There is pressure for us to stop using strings in our music," Grace Chatto said, citing the BBC on Thursday, August 22.

"We were also told to stop making pop music," said Jack

"We were sent a dance music playlist on Spotify and told 'your music must be here, only Harry Styles can make pop music,' continued Your music.

The request continued to press, so Clean Bandit began to change the color of their music. The violin game was removed and a darker tone of sound was chosen, which looked more like a music house than pop.

"We were told you 'you don't have a (panish) face, you have to make club music'," recalls my boy.

Clean Bandit feels that it has no other choice but to follow the wishes of the label.

"We let that happen because we thought, 'We'd rather release something than not at all'," Chatto said.

"However, the music doesn't feel like our music. We fans feel it. We feel it. In the end, we thought, what's the point of doing something?" he added.

In the end, Clean Bandit negotiated to get out of Atlantic Records well, allowing them to maintain the right to all their unreleased songs.

"It can't end up in a better way," Chatto said.

We are still friends with those people. I just think the more successful we are, the greater the pressure they feel. Their job is at stake.
