Since Having Children, Chua Kotak Stop Add Bass Collection

JAKARTA - Swasti Sabdastantri or more familiarly with the name Chua Kotak is known as one of the bassists who has a collection of musical instruments. At least 15 basses became a collection in his house.

The passion for collecting bass has started for a long time, but when he got married and finally had a child, the city bassist began to stop buying new collections.

"Since having children, the bass collection has been stuck that much, 15 are also damaged," Chua told the media crew in Cilandak, South Jakarta some time ago.

"It's not damaged, to be precise, because it's never used, it's called electronic goods that have to be heated, since getting married, it's rare to take care of it, it's not ascrafty as it used to be," Chua continued.

Musician 36 years said that every bass that is his collection currently has its own story. Many items are obtained by redeeming relatively cheap prices.

"Actually, to be honest, why can you have a lot of bass, actually every bass has a story. There are friends who sell want to get married, they need money, some children are sick, most of them are BU (need money) on average, Alhamdulillah it can be cheap, my sustenance," he said.

Furthermore, Chua also talked about her journey to find a suitable bass and according to her wishes and needs.

"Because I've tried some bass, there's Fender, Gibson, and other brands, I'm indeed stuck with a bass whose brand is Musicman StingRay. That's the best fit of the Box. Because I put the sound of Cella's guitar," concluded Chua.
