Nigerian Rapper Samples Yanti Bersaudara Song to Create Rap Accompaniment

Rapper from Nigeria creates rap accompaniment to Yanti Bersaudara's song (Instagram @kolo.24)

JAKARTA - Nigerian rapper and content creator with the name Kolo Gani sampled the Yanti Bersaudara's song to create a rap accompaniment.

In content uploaded to Instagram, Kolo said that songs from Indonesia have unique rhythms, and are interesting to use as samples when creating rap rhythms.

“If you want to produce good rap rhythms, then music from Indonesia. I'm telling you. Look," said Kolo Gani when starting the content.

Then, Kolo played the song "Rarakitan" by the Yanti Bersaudara via YouTube. Then, he sampled by slowing down the tempo of the song to 87 bpm (beats per minute).

Next, Kolo fused the “Rarakitan” sample with a new beat he created. With the accompaniment complete, he started rapping.

This content received a good response from Indonesian people. In fact, Ernest (Cokelat guitarist) and Marcell Siahaan gave a burning fire emoji in the comments column.

"Indonesia is gold," wrote artist Ade Habibie.

"You have to try Rhoma Irama's song," wrote Renny Fernandez, an Indonesian living in England.

For information, Yanti Bersaudara is a teenage vocal group from Bandung whose members are Yani Hardjakusumah, Tina Hardjakusumah, and Iin Parlina Hardjakusumah.

The Yanti Bersaudara were active in the 1960s until the early 1970s with Sundanese pop.
