Viral On Social Media, More On Mumbles Releases New Version Of 'Old Song'

JAKARTA - More on Mumbles, a music unit from Yogyakarta introduced their release titled 'Old Song'. As the title implies, this song was released in 2019 in acoustic format.

At the beginning of 2024, their video performing the full band version of the 'Old Song' received a lot of attention on social media. Because of this, listeners' requests emerged for More on Mumbles to re-record the song with the viral version.

More on Mumbles with Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia also tried to respond to listeners' wishes.

"Because it's crowded on TikTok, Me and Awan immediately chat with the label, can we rearrange the old song with a more banded version. It turns out that this idea is also supported by Sony," said Lintang, vocalist of More on Mumbles.

"In storytelling, this song is also still connected to what we want to convey in the first album that is being finalized," he added.

The creation of the 'Old Song' begins with Lintang's story about her ex-girlfriend who still gives her back in words like 'beauty' and you are always interesting' even though you are no longer together. Although in the end, it remains strong not to get back, there are times of doubt that come every time you hear these sweet words.

"Until finally I slowly found my own house to live my life with Awan hahaha," said Lintang.

The work on this song took place in the city of More on Mumbles, Yogyakarta. They involved Yabes Yuniawan in the production process.

"We are very happy to be given the power of the label for working on this song in Jogja. It doesn't mean that working with producers is not happy, but given the trust to make music itself, it feels different," said Awan, the guitarist.

The Old Song became the fourth single More on Mumbles with Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia after previously stealing attention by releasing Good For You, Such Is Life, and Berdalih. Trej ubu was also lined up to be the last single before their first album which will be released very soon.
