Ed Sheeran's Concert In Jakarta Moved To JIS, GBK Will Be Used For The Indonesian National Team Match

JAKARTA - Ed Sheeran's concert in Jakarta which will take place on March 2 moved from the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK) to the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS).

This was officially announced by the concert promoter Ed Sheeran + - = Laugh x (read: Mathematics) Tour 2024 in Jakarta, namely AEG Presents Asia, PK Entertainment, and Sound Rhythm.

The decision was taken after passing careful considerations from all parties involved with top priority to support the Indonesian vs Vietnam National Team (Timnas) football match which is scheduled to take place on March 21 at GBK.

"We are aware of the importance of Indonesian national football matches, especially when Indonesia is the host. Our support is in line with the government's goal to advance national sports. We also believe that JIS as the largest international football stadium in Indonesia, is also able to provide unforgettable experiences for Ed Sheeran's fans," said Harry Sudarma, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of PK Entertainment in a press release received by VOI, Friday, February 16.

"Our team is currently working with JIS intensively to ensure a smooth and pleasant concert experience for all fans in Jakarta," he continued.

Meanwhile, Rakhmadi A. Kusumo as the President Director of GBK said, "Representing the GBK venue manager, we have communicated intensively with event organizers regarding the activity agenda at the GBK Main Stadium. The GBK Main Stadium will be the location of the match between the Indonesian National Team and Vietnam in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualification. We need to make special preparations to keep the venue condition prime."

Moving the concert location is also to ensure fans get the best concert experience, including the iconic 360-degree stage sensation, which is the global standard for Ed Sheeran: + - = urus x Tour 2024.
