The Difference Between Franki Indrasmoro When With Naif And Solo Careers

JAKARTA - Franki Indrasmoro, who will debut as a solo singer in the near future, will reveal the differences faced when compared to when he built Naif in the mid-1990s.

It is known, Franki Indrasmoro alias Pepeng (drums) together with David (vocals), Jarwo (guitar), Emil (bass), and Chandra (keyboards) formed Naif in 1995 when they were still students at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Jakarta Arts Institute.

Naif continues to grow and is increasingly recognized by Indonesian music lovers with a distinctive retro style. They walked for more than 20 years in the formation of the Davi, Jarwo, Emil, and Pepeng quartets.

"In the past, the adventure of the road trip was to ride a car together, now the road trip is alone on a motorbike. The analogy is like that," said Franki Indrasmoro, talking about the difference in starting Naif with solo careers, when contacted by VOI some time ago.

What Franki still felt when he started Naif and now is his desire to work through music. He still wants to be known as a musician who continues to work.

However, this desire is no longer aimed at the same goal. If in the past Naif wanted his works to be displayed on stage, while Franki saw the stage just a bonus.

"The difference is that in the past with Naif the goal was to perform. So, how did this song be made, heard by people, then played on stage. Now I think performing is not a priority. It's more of a bonus," said Franki.

"For example, if the song is liked, then there is a request for a gig, yes, it's a bonus. For example, if you like it but don't perform, it's okay, because the goal is not there," he continued.

Through his solo project later, Franki said the goal was to keep working with new things.

"The goal is just to work, the song is heard by people. Yes, that's the goal. If for example the stream is high and it could go viral, thank God," concluded Franki Indrasmoro.
