JAKARTA - Jakarta Concert Orchestra (JCO) will hold An Anime Symphony Overdrive on February 3. This concert is a continuation of last December's biggest success.

It is known that An An Anime Symphony, which was held twice on December 9, 2023 at the Jakarta Theater Building, Taman Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta, was attended by 2,000 spectators, with tickets sold out in a matter of hours.

In order to give opportunities for those who have not been able to enjoy previous performances, JCO brought back the concert that performed the song from the Japanese animation.

"Good news for all of you, who haven't got it or are still curious and haven't moved on with our concerts yesterday. We will do it again, namely An Anime Symphony Overdrive," wrote JCO in an upload on the official Instagram account, seen on Saturday, January 20.

Meanwhile, further announcements regarding the location of the event and ticket sales will be announced through the official Jakarta Concert Orchestra Instagram account on Monday, January 22.

Overall, An Anime Symphony is a concert featuring songs from Japan's famous anime since the 1980s.

Avip Priatna as Director of Music and Conductor of Jakarta Concert Orchestra, who was initially surprised by the relatively short ticket sales and enthusiasm of the public, said he was satisfied with their first concert.

Different from classic concerts in general, Avip said the presence of spectators gave great energy to performers on stage.

"Yes, everything went according to what was expected, relieved. The audience was extraordinary, adding positive energy to those on stage. It really encouraged each other," said Avip via text message to VOI on Monday, December 11.

Given the large number of people running out of tickets and unable to watch the first show, Avip said there would be a surprise that had been prepared.

"Just wait for our next surprise," he said.

Meanwhile, An Anime Symphony presents around 200 musicians and singers who take turns appearing on stage. Meanwhile Avip acts as a conductor.

For the concert last December, it started with an appearance from TRC (The Resonanz Children's Choir) Serunai who brought the soundtrack from Doraemon. Then, Batavia Madrigal Singers (BMS) performed the song Hikaru Nara.

Furthermore, JCO performed a series of songs from Ghibli, such as The Boy and the Heron, Nausica totaling of the Valley of the Wind, Marital's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, and Kiki's Delivery Service.

Pepita Salim was accompanied by BMS presenting a elegant appearance with the song Mononoke Hime. He looked stunning in a white costume that looked similar to the character Princess Mononoke.

Pepita's total features four repertoires in one concert. In addition, An Anime Symphony also presented Stefani Yang.

"This concert not only provides an encouraging musical experience but also creates a lively atmosphere with active participation from spectators who contribute through their cosplay costumes," concluded Avip Priatna.
