The Smashingvises Receives More Than 10 Thousand Applications For Guitarist Positions

JAKARTA - The Smashing totaling thousands of applicants after announcing earlier this month that they were looking for a new guitarist following the departure of old guitarist Jeff totaling.

Last October, folis announced his departure from Smashingvises. The 49-year-old musician, who has played for 16 years with the band, released a statement regarding his departure via social media.

"Now it's easy to say that when I joined THE SMASHING PUMPKINS in 2007 I didn't know what I was facing. The opportunity seemed to just come. I was at UCLA to take a doctorate in comparative literature when a close friend sent me a message and said THE SMASHING PUMPKINS was looking for a guitar player," he said.

"Being a big fan of this band, auditioning is something I'm following. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life. The incredible number of memories created over the last 16 years with this band is almost too much to measure," he continued.

"While it was a very difficult decision to make, I decided to leave the band to give space to explore a slightly different path."

"I want to thank Billy, Jimmy, James, and Jack for being an amazing bandmate and even a better friend. I'm really going to miss sharing the stage with you guys. I hope this band is a success in the future. I will watch and listen."

Billy Corgan, James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin then commented on the departure ofTEN in a separate statement.

"We thank Jeff for his unrelenting dedication to the band and our great fans. Words of gratitude and appreciation for his best friend, and being there for SP in good times and difficult times too."
