In His Memoar, Boy George Says He Will Never Be With Janet Jackson

JAKARTA - Boy George released a memoir titled Karma: The Definitive Autobiography recently. In one part, he insists he will never be friends with Janet Jackson.

The singer of the song Culture Club, whose autobiography was released in November 2023, wrote about her first meeting with Janet Jackson.

They met backstage while recording an episode for America's variety music show, Solid Gold, in 1983.

George stated that Jackson did not repay his hospitality. "He is not friendly and does not try to be friendly," he wrote.

"But I just left and put on my best 'Boy George' and walked backstage to make sure I was seen by everyone."

He added, when a cameraman approached him and said to leave Janet, he said: "Next time you meet someone, be good."

After that, when George was escorted to Janet's dressing room, Michael Jackson's sister stated that she didn't recognize him before, prompting George to ask: "'Did you say you would be good to me if you knew who I was?' We were separated. awkward moments.'

George's first meeting with Janet was not the only memory of his encounter with Janet in the book. George also noted that when he met Janet in a Top Of The Pops episode, the 'Rhythm Nation' singer 'kicked straight at him'.

In an interview with People magazine, George stated that he had no problem revealing publicly his negative encounters with fellow stars.

"When you write a book like this, there is a possibility you will meet someone you've written," he told People.

"I have to say that what I write about people is the truth about what happened and how they behave. So I feel comfortable with it. I've always been someone who's ready to bury the ax because there's always another chance to be different.."

Even so, he added that there are some people he is still not interested in at making up for his mistakes, including Janet: "At this point, there are certain people who will never be friends with me unless a miracle happens - and I think I put him in that category."
