40 Years With Slank, Bimbim: The Best Job In The World

JAKARTA - Bimo Setiawan Almachzumi alias Bimbim is one of the figures behind the establishment of Slank, who later became the legendary band in Indonesia. Until now, he has been with Slank for 40 years.

"The best job in the world. This is not called work, but playing a band. Every day you keep playing," said Bimbim to the media crew at the Jakarta Arts Building, Central Jakarta, Thursday, December 28.

What Bimbim called, was agreed by Kaka. The vocalist agreed that being in Slank for decades was the best job for him.

"We feel like we're playing games all the time. It's true that this is the best job in the world, our mood when we gather the five is always like we're in a place to play. We're always in such a mood," said Kaka.

"So if you ask what about after 40 years? 40 years of playing, keep being happy, keep playing, best job in the world," he said.

Meanwhile, Ivanka expressed his gratitude for being able to be with Slank until now. He felt that many things could be learned so far.

"I'm grateful 27 years and Slank. This is my place of learning and life. So, I've had a lot of trips in Slank, in the old era until now, and still working," said Ivanka.

Furthermore, Ridho called Slank the greatest gift from God for him. He also agreed that being a Slank personnel was called the best job.

"If it's been for me for 40 years, this is the biggest gift from God for me. Because we can still make an album, we're still playing, still playing, still playing. If this is called the best job in the world, that's right, I feel like that because we meet new people, make us happy on stage, it's like an impact for us," concluded Ridho.
