Tom Meighan Is Nominated For The 2024 BRIT Awards Despite Having Persecuted His Partner, Mel B: I'm Disappointed

JAKARTA - Mel B criticized the former Kasabian member, Tom Meighan who was eligible for the 2024 BRIT Awards. In fact, Meighan was convicted of a case of abuse against his ex-partner.

This Spice Girls member voiced his disappointment with the decision of a singer convicted of maltreatment qualified for winning the BRIT Award in a statement to The Independent.

It happened after Meighan was among the artists included in the 2024 edition of the voting academy form.

Meighan separated from a group from Leicester, Kasabian, in July 2020, shortly before being charged with molesting his partner Vikki Ager whom he married the following year. He was sentenced to 200 hours of unpaid work.

BRIT's excitement comes after the release of Meighan's solo album, Theeckoning, and she qualified for being nominated for Album of the Year, British Rock / Alternative Act, and Artist of the Year at next year's ceremony.

"I am very disappointed that organizations that are highly respected in the music industry should make choices like this," Mel B told the outlet.

You have to think about what kind of message you want to convey to people when crimes of violence against women can be done and then that person can be rewarded as part of a massive award event. This came as a surprise to me.
