JAKARTA - Jakarta Concert Orchestra (JCO) managed to hold two An Anime Symphony performances at the Jakarta Theater Building, Taman Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta on Saturday, December 9.

Overall, concerts featuring songs from the famous anime from Japan since the 1980s have been running smoothly by presenting around 2,000 viewers.

Avip Priatna, Director of Music and Conductor of Jakarta Concert Orchestra, who was initially surprised by the relatively short ticket sales and enthusiasm of the public, said he was satisfied with the concert that night.

Different from classic concerts in general, Avip said the presence of spectators gave great energy to performers on stage.

"Yes, everything went according to what was expected, relieved. The audience was extraordinary, adding positive energy to those on stage. It really encouraged each other," said Avip via text message to VOI on Monday, December 11.

When asked if JCO would return to hold An Anime Symphony in the near future, given the large number of people running out of tickets and unable to watch the show, Avip said there would be a surprise.

"Just wait for our next surprise," he said.

Meanwhile, An Anime Symphony presented around 200 musicians and singers who took turns performing on stage. Meanwhile Avip as a conductor wore a Naruto character costume.

The concert started with an appearance from TRC (The Resonanz Children's Choir) Serunai who brought the soundtrack from Doraemon. Then, Batavia Madrigal Singers (BMS) performed Hikaru Nara's song.

Furthermore, JCO performed a series of songs from Ghibli, such as The Boy and the Heron, Nausica totaling of the Valley of the Wind, Marital's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, and Kiki's Delivery Service.

Pepita Salim was accompanied by BMS presenting a elegant appearance with the song Mononoke Hime. He looked stunning in a white costume that looked similar to the character Princess Mononoke.

Pepita's total features four repertoires in one concert. In addition, An Anime Symphony also presented Stefani Yang.

"This concert not only provides an encouraging musical experience but also creates a lively atmosphere with active participation from spectators who contribute through their cosplay costumes," concluded Avip Priatna.
