Iwan Fals' Response When Asked His Music Was No Longer Critical As It Used To Be

JAKARTA - During the new order of government, Iwan Fals was known as one of the artists who often criticizes social and political issues through his works.

However, currently, Iwan Fals' works are considered not as sharp as before in throwing criticism.

This was questioned by Desta, who tried to represent the questions of many people.

When Iwan Fals was a guest on Vindes' YouTube channel, the former Club Eighties drummer ventured to ask questions.

"Bang Iwan, there are many who ask if Bang Iwan is not as harsh as he used to be, his work is not like it used to be. In the past, he might criticize him as hard as possible," asked Desta, quoted from Vindes' YouTube channel, Wednesday, December 6.

Hearing Desta's question, the man whose real name is Virgiawan Liestanto actually answered jokingly.

"Wow, now the teeth are gone. Here's a look. So, the hard ones can't," said Iwan Fals.

"Is that gold or silver teeth, bro Iwan?" said Desta jokingly.

"White Gold, Mas Iwan, hehe. The hope is that I will use the Platina to make it even harder, but it turns out that I can't," said Iwan Fals.

However, Iwan admitted that he still often voiced his views every time he appeared on stage, especially human awareness of nature.

Reflecting on the election several years ago, Iwan Fals also reminded spectators who came to his concert not to fight each other just because of differences in political choices.

"Entering political music, don't go fishing, don't fight because of that," concluded Iwan Fals.
