UB40 And Janis Joplin Enter Music Walk Of Fame England

JAKARTA - UB40 and Janis Joplin were inducted into the British Music Walk Of Fame in the dividend London area.

Launched in 2019, the Music Walk Of Fame covers an area of one square mile in Camera and features Stone Awards embedded on sidewalks, famous artists and other important pioneers in music.

Other important music figures who were previously inaugurated include The Who, Madness, Soul II Soul, Amy Winehouse, David Bowie and many more.

Talking about the inauguration in a press release, Ali Campbell of UB40 shared that this felt like a special moment because this reggae band played their first show at Camera and now they are receiving awards at the same place.

Back to thedas it was great fun... I am very proud of this award. I am also proud of the role I play in promoting music that I love... reggae. We started UB40 with that goal. Our goal is to promote reggae. And reggae is now the most influential music in the world. The contemporary dance music that is booming today, all of its production techniques come from reggae. So it's a beautiful thing. A love so great for everyone. Thank you for this award. And respect, "said Campbell.

Meanwhile, during the Joplin inauguration ceremony, his brother Michael Joplin recalled the memories of his sister's special appearance in England.

Just yesterday, my wife and I got out for a walk in the morning trying to get over the jet lag. And we ended up at Royal Albert Hall. I stood on the stairs remembering one of the letters he wrote to his house about Albert Hall's sales, and how proud he was, so happy. I stood on the stairs, and I could still feel his joy and pride. And I really enjoyed it. It was a great moment, "he explained.

Other English Music Walk Of Fame recipients include Gordon Mac (Constructor of Kiss FM), Paul 'Trouble' Anderson, The Sugarhill Gang, Eddy Grant, Buzzcocks, Billy Bragg, Shalamar and The Kinks. Their ceremony will take place for the remainder of the week, ahead of the first annual Curtain Music Festival on Saturday, September 9.

Last year, David Bowie was awarded a stone on the coveted road. Among those who paid their respects to the late innovator were Spiders From Mars drummer Woody Woodmansey.

"This is another milestone for his legacy to music, film, video, and everything he does for culture," Woodmansey told Reuters.
