Unprofitable, Piyu Bans Ari Lasso From Singing 'Heartkeeper' Song

Piyu forbade Ari Lasso to sing his song titled Keeper Hati, a song from Ari Lasso's first album as a soloist released in 2001.

Piyu as a songwriter felt that she did not get the appropriate economic rights, even though she felt that her song was quite successful.

"From the start, the Hati Keeper's royalties were only Rp. 130,000," said Piyu, launching the Piyu Channel Official YouTube channel on Sunday, September 3.

The frontman from Padi Reborn also said that he had communicated with Ari Lasso, and asked him not to perform the song Keeper Hati anymore.

"I'm just talking, why did he bring the song? After all, I didn't get anything, there was no economic benefit for me. So why sing it again?" said Piyu.

Regarding the issue of royalty acceptance for songwriters, Piyu mentioned that there were allegations of delinquency committed by several parties.

He mentioned that many event organizers or event organizers were not disciplined and did not report LMKN (National Collective Management Agency) to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

For information, royalty payments are regulated in Copyright Law Number 28 of 2014. It stipulates that songwriters have moral rights and economic rights attached to their songs.

Regulations related to royalty management are also regulated in Government Regulation (PP) Number 56 of 2001 concerning Song and/or Music Copyright.
