JAKARTA - Independent Hitam disk distributors and Unearthed Sounds physical album stores state that they will close on July 31.

The management of this blacklist company revealed a number of factors that contributed to the closure of their business, including the impact of Brexit, the Covid-19 pandemic and the cost of living crisis.

Dorset-based company, which specializes in dance music, shared the news in a statement posted to their social media on July 5, which took place after "uncountable internal deliberations".

"It's with a heavy heart that we have to share difficult news with all of you," the statement begins.

This is a very challenging decision to make, the decisions that have been taken are not taken lightly. Over the past few months, we have been involved in many discussions, planning meetings, and seek external advice.

"Unfortunately, given the current financial climate and the long-lasting impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Brexit, and the Living Cost Crisis, it is clear that continuing our operations is not feasible at all.

It is important to realize that the trials we face are not exclusive Unerted Sounds alone. The music industry, along with many other businesses, was greatly affected during these difficult times.

"However, despite the common struggle, we still hope the music community will adapt and survive, find new ways to unite artists, labels and music fans together."

The company also expressed its deepest gratitude to "our loyal staff, loyal labels, record stores, and customers we value", giving thanks from "out of our hearts".

"Then, together, we have devoted our hearts and souls to serve the dance music community, and it is an absolute privilege to do so."

Throughout our journey, we have witnessed the beauty of music as it is growing and spreading, watching new genres form, the breakthrough of talented artists, and our amazing team develop into extraordinary individuals like today. There is no shortage but amazing.

We will carry countless precious memories, the joy of being connected to each of you, and the eternal impact of Unearthed Sounds in our lives.
