JAKARTA - Diplo admits he is not satisfied with Coachella's line-up this year - and thinks the festival is definitely "to experience difficulties" getting a headliner.
Solo artists, DJs, and songwriters who have written and produced hits for stars including Beyoncé, Madonna, Britney Spears, and Justin Bieber share their opinion on Coachella 2023 in a new interview.
According to Diplo, although the newest headliners, including Bad Bunny and BLACKPINK, they couldn't be compared to previous headliners such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Daft Punk.
"I think I'm a bit too old for Coachella," he told The Hollywood Reporter. This is the oldest I've ever felt at Coachella. It's very fun. I like to go with the general public and see new bands. But that's too much.
"I think to be honest they may have trouble getting a headliner," he continued.
"There's not much left. It's like leaving the era of great superheroes, like the Red Hot Chili Peppers or Daft Punk... Now they order artists like Bad Bunny and Blackpink, which are cool, but only they [artis-artiss] Top 40 are there. It's almost like a stadium show."
Both the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Daft Punk have collected a number of Top 40 songs throughout their respective careers, and started various stadium tours.
Explaining why according to him festival organizers may be 'fight' to order artists he deems worthy of headliner slots, Diplo also stated that he believes "not many new artists are truly culturally relevant" today.

"I saw Labrinth. It was amazing. I think it represents the real Coachella," he added.
"He's part of the zeitgeist. But the rest just feel like they have to fight to find things that are cultural test stones, but can also attract a lot of people."
Headliner to Coachella this year also features Frank Ocean making his first set in six years on the first weekend, but being replaced by Blink-182 who just reunited on the second weekend after suffering an injury at the festival venue.
