JAKARTA - Sad news has enveloped the world of rock music again. Modest Mouse drummer, Jeremia Green, died at the age of 5 on Sunday local time.
The Hollywood Reporter reported that Green died after battling cancer. The band's founding member's departure was announced by the Modest Mouse via Instagram.
"I don't know an easier way to say this: Today we lost our friend Yeremia. She has been lying down to rest and is just missing," wrote Modest Mouse on Instagram.
Green played a role in the formation of the popular rock band in Seattle in 1992. He plays on every album of this band, except for Good News for People Who Love Bad News which was released in 2004.
Green took a break from band activities from 2003 to 2004. Since being diagnosed with cancer and undergoing chemotherapy treatment, Green withdrew from the Modest Mouse tour in celebration of the 25th anniversary of his second album, The Lonesome Crowded West (1997).
