Lars Ulrich Calls Metallica Allow Stranger Things Use Their Song

JAKARTA - The song Master of Puppets gained attention after being played in the Stranger Things series. In fact, this song has become a debate between Metallica fans and ordinary listeners.

Thanks to that scene, the Master of Puppets was ranked first in the UK in 14 years. Their song also entered the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time and the number of plays continued to grow.

Lars Ulrich, a member of Metallica, finally explained why they allowed Stranger Things to use the hit song.

In the past, Metallica was a type that was 'not'. Can we use this song for this content? Can we use that song? The answer is always no, Lars Ulrich told Howard Stern Show.

The drummer then explained in recent years, they started to change the concept. Even Ulrich admits Metallica is too stupid to keep their songs.

We changed 180 degrees. This is stupid. Why do we depend on this song like they are so important like a crown? It's better if we share our songs with the world," he explained.

"So yes, in recent years we have started to say yes to all (articles)," added Ulrich.

They did not expect the song Master of Puppets to be phenomenal and liked by the public. The long duration and rock genre often make this song not so much attention.

"I feel surprised to see the song become phenomenal and we are very proud. What do you mean, who would have thought 40 years had passed and this song still had a big influence?" said Lars Ulrich.

Several Metallica songs began to be heard in a number of films and series such as For Whom the Bell Tolls in Metal Lords and Triple Frontier, Nothing Else Matters in the Wednesday series, and See & Destroy in the Outer Range series.
