JAKARTA - Indonesian-born vocalist Dougy Mandagi has released his first EP with his new stage name, BLOODMOON. The album, titled Giving Up Air, is his new transition in the electro genre.

Dougy Mandagi is one of the musicians from Indonesia who has successfully stepped into the global music world. As the vocalist of The Temper Trap, the indie rock band has had success on the music scene with a number of their releases.

Now, Dougy Mandagi wants to explore the electro side with BLOODMOON. The title song As Time Goes By is a single as well as a reflection of his past in the capital city.

“I am proud to finally release and share this work, which has become an important part of my life for the past 2 years,” said Dougy Mandagi aka BLOODMOON.

The music video As Time Goes By shows another side of the capital city of Jakarta where the motorbike track subculture is bustling. The dark nightlife is never deserted from the motorbike track action by a group of young people.

This video uses the VFX datamoshing treatment directed by Deby Sucha. He has worked on the music videos of Mezzaluna, Teddy Adhitya, and Karina Salim.

In the EP Giving Up Air, Dougy Mandagi presents six songs that tell the story of his musical journey. Starting from a small child from Indonesia who grew up in the United States then became an Asian singer.

“It feels liberating to know that these songs are no longer just mine, but belong to everyone who feels connected to them. That's when the real magic happens," he said.

In recent years, Dougy and The Temper Trap have become Australia's most successful international musicians in a decade. Now, he is starting a new chapter by becoming an electro singer named BLOODMOON. BLOODMOON's first EP, Giving Up Air can be listened to digitally starting today, Friday, August 19.
