BMW Motorrad Officially Introduces F 450 GS: True 'GS' Strength In Class A2

JAKARTA - BMW Motorrad officially introduced its newest adventurer motor, BMW F 450 GS, at the EICMA international motorcycle exhibition, Milan, Italy, which is currently underway.

This motorbike is here to fill the A2 class motorcycle segment (48 hp) by bringing the original DNA from the legendary GS series. This new motorbike is positioned as a "best mission" that combines excellent daily capabilities, touring comfort, and off-road performance.

"With the new BMW F 450 GS, BMW Motorrad presents true GS in class A2. This motorbike embodies the essence of GS: Up, turning gas, having fun with full control and maximum confidence," said BMW Motorrad CEO Markus Flasch, in the manufacturer's media room, quoted Wednesday, November 5.

From the heart of the runway, F 450 GS is equipped with a fully new 420 cc-capacity two-cylinder engine (parallel-twin). This engine produces 35 kW (48 hp) power at 8,750 rpm and a 43 Nm peak torque at 6,750 rpm. Thanks to the use of high-tech materials, this machine is not only compact but also efficient, with a fuel consumption of about 3.8 liters per 100 km. With a tank with a capacity of 14 liters, its range can penetrate more than 350 km. BMW Motorrad emphasizes that the ratio of power to to torques that are balanced, combined with light weights, makes F 450 GS offer an intuitive and pleasant driving experience.

One of the interesting innovations of this bike is the BMW Easy Ride Clunch (ERC), the result of the development of the centrifugal coupling system. This technology allows motorists no longer need to operate the coupling lever manually when starting travel, changing teeth, or maneuvering in the heavy field. Astrid Neudecker, BMW F 450 GS Product Manager, explains that this model offers ideal balance between kelincancy, driving dynamics, and premium equipment without compromising performance or technical quality.

In terms of design, F 450 GS retains its distinctive GS character in a tough and modern style. The LED front light with the X daytime running light icon is a characteristic that directly reminds his older brother, R 1300 GS. BMW also provides a number of attractive options such as the Akrapovic exhaust and the original BMW Motorrad cross-spoke rim to increase the premium impression.

Especially for the 'GS Trophy' variant, this motor is equipped with high-tech components, including the use of magnesium materials that help reduce weight without reducing performance.
