Security Reasons, Himalayan Withdrawn For Brake Damage

JAKARTA - Royal Enfield must recall 4,891 Himalayan motorbikes. Previously, they had reported to the United States Highway Safety Agency (NHTSA) about this.

The recall was made due to a braking problem on a Himalayan motorbike. The motorbike that was hit by the recall process was the production period from March 1, 2017 to February 28, 2021.

Reporting from Rideapart on Thursday, March 9, the problem lies in the cross section of the motorbike. These components can cause corrosion when exposed to large amounts of salt, capillary damage can also cause brake failure.

The Indian two-wheeled manufacturer also warns motorists to pay attention to signs such as a burning odor near the capillary, stagnant when they want to accelerate or unusual difficulties.

After being examined and analyzed, they concluded that replacing the OEM timesper with an anodized Kaliper would solve the problem.

The good news is that Royal Enfield will provide a free Kaliper replacement service for the Himalayan to all units if eligible.

The notice for the withdrawal of the Himalayan unit was made on February 6, 2023. It is not yet known about the deadline for the recall, it is clear that Royal Enfield hopes to return the Himalayan model withdrawn to customers in the spring.
