The Latest Wuling SUV for Rp150 Million Has Been Registered in Indonesia

JAKARTA - Wuling gives a strong signal that it will launch its latest SUV for the Indonesian market. The new Wuling Starlight 560, which was just launched in China, has now registered its industrial design in the country.

Wuling Starlight 560 was not long ago introduced with a fairly tempting price tag in the Chinese market, starting from around Rp. 150 million only. This SUV is offered in two cabin configuration options, namely 5 passengers and 7 passengers, which makes it attractive for family consumers.

Not only that, the Starlight 560 is also flexible in terms of technology because it comes in three power source options, gasoline engines, plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variants, and pure electric (EV) versions. The signal of its presence in Indonesia is getting stronger after the design of the vehicle is identical to the Starlight 560.

As seen by VOI, Tuesday, January 20, on the Industrial Design Official News website with No. 4/DI/2026 published by the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI), Ministry of Law of the Republic of Indonesia. In the document, the design is registered in the name of SAIC GM Wuling.

The design has a registration number of A00202508361. Although there has been no official statement from Wuling Indonesia, the registration of an industrial design is often the first step before a model is officially marketed.

If you look at the specifications that launched in China, the Wuling Starlight 560 has a boxy body with a length of 4,745 mm, a width of 1,850 mm, and a height of 1,755 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,810 mm. The luggage capacity is 320 liters, but can be expanded to 1,945 liters if the rear seats are folded.

Interestingly, Wuling also provides cabin flexibility with the front seats can be folded flat, while the rear seats can be reclined up to 125 degrees. In the interior, the Starlight 560 carries a modern feel through a 12.8-inch touchscreen integrated with Ling OS.

The instrument panel is behind the steering wheel, while on the center console there are still several physical buttons, complete with wireless charging and a cup holder. For performance, the gasoline variant is equipped with a 1.5 turbo engine with 174 hp of power and 290 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or CVT.

The PHEV variant uses a combination of a 1.5-liter engine and an electric motor. The gasoline engine produces 105 hp of power with 130 Nm of torque, while the electric motor contributes 194 hp of power and 230 Nm of torque.

In pure electric mode, the range reaches 125 km, while in the condition that the battery and gasoline work together, the total range is claimed to be able to reach 1,100 km. Meanwhile, the BEV version relies on an electric motor with 134 hp of power and 200 Nm of torque.

The energy is supplied by an LFP battery with a capacity of 54.5 kWh or 56.7 kWh, with a mileage ranging from 450 to 500 km depending on the variant. The Starlight 560 EV also supports fast charging 2C: charging from 30 to 80 percent in just about 20 minutes, or adding 200 km of range in 15 minutes.
