Mitsubishi Elevance Concept 4WD Presents PHEV System And AI Technology For Adventure

JAKARTA - Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MC) officially introduced the Elevance Concept, an electric-hybrid SUV that marks a new direction for the design and future technology of the three-stealth brand. This concept debuted at the Japan Mobility Show 2025 in Tokyo.

The concept SUV combines advanced electrification systems with advanced four-wheeled control, reaffirming Mitsubishi's DNA as a brand known for its off-road capabilities and best driving technology in its class.

Elevance Concept is equipped with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system that allows the use of environmentally friendly internal combustion engines. In addition, it includes a quad-motor (4WD) four-wheel drive system.

Two motorbikes are placed on the front wheels, while the back uses an Active Yaw Control (AYC) dual-motor system that functions to maintain stability and traction in various road conditions. Not only efficient, this electrification system also allows the vehicle-to-load (V2L) feature.

This means that the power of the battery can be used for external needs such as camping or outdoor activities. Visually, Elevance looks striking with the design of a capsule-style cabin flowing, combined with a rib-inspired body structure to add stiffness.

The front features the evolution of Mitsubishi's typical Dynamic Shield grip with a honeycomb pattern that gives a futuristic impression but remains resilient. The interior is wide with a three-line six-pass configuration, while the dashboard features a full-width screen that runs from side to side.

The steering wheel is also equipped with an integrated digital screen, bringing the impression of high technology without sacrificing ergonomics. One of the most interesting features is AI Co-Driver, a smart assistant who is able to provide route advice and adjust driving mode according to road conditions and driver preferences.

This system displays information in real-time through the screen on the steering wheel and instrument panels. Mitsubishi Motors president and CEO, Takao Kato, explained that the concept of Elevance is a manifestation of the spirit of unlimited exploration which is at the heart of the company's philosophy.

We chose the theme Forever Adventure to express our desire to present the wonders of timeless exploration. This spirit lives in models such as the Mitsubishi Elevance Concept, which combines the best electrification technology and our signature four-wheel control," Kato said on the official Mitsubishi website, Wednesday, October 29.

Although still a model of concept, Elevance is a strong signal of Mitsubishi design and technology in the era of electrification. This concept not only stands out in terms of style, but also shows the real potential to become a future SUV that is ready to face various terrains and challenges of modern mobility.
