Renault Launches New Kwid E-Tech Filling Affordable Electric Car Segments

Renault is again expanding its electric vehicle line by launching the latest Renault Kwid E-Tech in Brazil, or the Dacia Spring EV twin, which was first sold in the European market.

Quoting from the Rushlane page, Monday, October 13, this model replaces the previous generation of Kwid E-Tech which is still based on the old Kwid platform. This model is priced at 99,990 real or around Rp. 300 million.

By design, Renault Kwid E-Tech appeared bolder and sharper, following the evolution of Renault's modern design language. The car uses the same silhouette as Dacia Spring EV, but with a number of typical Renault details, such as the large diamond logo at the front located above the charging port.

The new grid with vertical elements gives a more aggressive look, while the Y-shaped DRL LED lights are maintained. The front bumper design is also made different from Dacia's version. On the back, there is a Y-shaped back-ladder connecting plaque that strengthens the Kwid E-Tech's visual identity.

For Brazilian specifications, Renault Kwid E-Tech is equipped with a sein light on the rearview mirror, a 14-inch steel rim with a two-wheeled cover, a thick feder shield, and a sidedoor coating. The flip-up model door handle also gives a classic feel. Even so, Renault's chosen launch color looks calmer than the brighter Dacia Spring variant.

Entering the cabin, Kwid E-Tech presents a modern interior with a 10.1-inch infotainment display that already supports Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay. There is air conditioning with Y-shaped accents, automatic temperature controllers, and a trunk with a capacity of 290 liters that is wide enough for cars in its segment.

Renault also provides the latest Kwid E-Tech with modern safety features, including the ADAS Level 1 (Advanced Driver Assistance System) which is a significant added value in its class.

With this launch, Renault seeks to strengthen its position in the South American electric vehicle market through a platform sharing strategy with Dacia. Despite sharing bases, Kwid E-Tech still carries a distinctive simple, efficient, and functional Renault identity.
