Rivian Creates R1S SUV Special Edition For Pebble Beach, Ready To Be Auctioned

JAKARTA The electric car manufacturer, known for its adventure design Rivian, has just made a breakthrough by launching its first 'one-off' model, a Rivian R1S Quad made specifically for the Pebble Beach event.

It is known, Pebble Beach Concourses d'Elegance is a very prestigious annual automotive event, considered one of the best car exhibitions in the world. The event was held at the Pebble Beach golf course in California, United States.

This exclusive electric SUV will soon be auctioned off today by Broad Arrow Auctions, expected to sell at a top-standard price.

This special model, reported Carscoops, August 14, marked Rivian's debut on the world's most prestigious automotive stage with a completely different design. Its exterior look is wrapped in a custom color called Monterey Silver, a unique color that can change between silver and champagne depending on the point of view and lighting. This look is beautified with a fine bronze accent on some parts.

Attention to details continues on the legs, where Rivian installs a custom 22-inch tempa rim with a three-color finishing matching the exterior. The Kaliper brakes are painted with a striking Laguna Beach Blue color, and a special emblem, including a small mascot on the back door, further asserting its status as a single edition.

The interior is no less special. Rivian uses materials that are unlikely to be found in mass production models, such as Pebble Stone Adventex woven fabrics with a distinctive texture for the seat and trim doors. Coupled with cross stitches, wood insertions, and stainless steel trims around the audio speakers, the cabin feels very premium. In fact, the floor carpet was painted and colored with hands to create a gradient that resembles a sunset on the coast.

Despite its unique appearance, this SUV did not get a mechanical upgrade. Its power still comes from the most powerful configuration of R1S Quad with four electric motors which generate a total of 1,025 hp and a torque of 1,198 lb-ft. This AWD model has a attractive capacity of up to 3,492 kg and an estimated distance of EPA of 544 km.

Rivian R1S Quad Pebble Beach is expected to sell at a price exceeding US$130,000 or equivalent to Rp2.09 billion. Once auctioned, the car will also be exhibited at The Quail on Friday, August 15, before being handed over to its new owners. This special edition is likely to be the beginning of a new tradition for Rivian to create future bespoke models for collectors.
