Success With J7, Jaecoo Will Bring Jaecoo 5 To The British Market Next Week

JAKARTA - The British automotive market will return for a car from China. This time, a compact SUV called Jaecool 5 will soon debut in the country.

Autocar reported, Saturday, July 5, this SUV will greet the British public at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2025 which will take place next week.

This crossover will be the second car in Jaecoo's ranks in the land of King Charles, joining the larger Jaecool 7 or J7 received so well that it has been ordered as many as 6,000 units since it went on sale earlier this year.

Although details regarding specifications and prices have not been revealed, it is certain that the technical aspects of this car are not much different from the versions sold in China.

Jaecool 5 is based on the same T1X platform as its brother from a different subbrand, namely Omoda 5. Different from the others, the brand under the Chery Group umbrella was launched with pure gasoline.

Powered by a 1.6 liter turbocharged engine, the model will have a performance of 187 hp and a 275 Nm torque. The performance is combined with the transmission of seven responsive dual-clutch accelerations.

In design, Jaecoo 5 has a lot in common with Jaecoo 7. However, this model has a more compact and short dimension than his brother.

The interior will be decorated with a smaller infotainment screen than Jaecoo 7, although the manufacturer's certainty of its size has yet to be disclosed.

For the British market, it is hoped that the SUV will be sold in two different trims, namely Pure and Luxury.

The initial variant will offer six-speaker audio systems, 6-way adjustable seats, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.

The top type will have equipment such as a panorama roof, wireless phone charging, and a warm and ventilated front seat.
